Merlin Tae Kwon Do - Alton.

Thanks to our members we've outgrown the Assembly rooms and so from the 1st of April we will be training solely at the Alton Community Centre from 6.30pm until 7.30pm on Tuesday and Thursdays.

Tae Kwon-Do is a modern Korean martial art, introduced to the UK in 1967.

Tae Kwon-Do is often translated as 'The Way of Foot and Hand'.

  • 'Tae' means to jump or smash with the foot.
  • 'Kwon' means to punch or destroy with the hand.
  • 'Do' means art, way or method.

As with many other martial arts, tae kwon do is a combination of combat techniques, self-defense, sport, exercise, entertainment, and philosophy.

Tae Kwon Do as a sport and exercise is popular with people of both sexes and of many ages. Physically, tae kwon do develops strength, speed, balance, flexibility, and stamina.
